Season 14 Lair Boss farming works best when you treat it like a shopping list, not a test of pride. Pick the Unique that makes your build tick, then go to the boss that actually carries it. You will save a lot of keys, repairs, and D4 Gold by avoiding runs that cannot give you what you need. The boss kill itself is only half the job anyway; the Hoard is where the serious reward comes from, and that is what costs your key.
Build a Route Before Spending KeysInitiate bosses such as Varshan, Grigoire, Lord Zir, Beast in the Ice, and Urivar use normal Lair Keys. They are still worth farming, even after you can beat stronger encounters. Varshan is the right stop for items like Raiment of the Infinite or Greatstaff of the Crone, while Grigoire is useful for Hunter's Zenith, Paingorger's Gauntlets, and several class options. Zir, Beast in the Ice, and Urivar each cover different build needs, so it pays to check the pool instead of guessing. Greater bosses use Greater Lair Keys and include Duriel, Andariel, Harbinger of Hatred, and Bloodied Butcher. They are better suited to higher-tier target pools, but a harder boss is not automatically a better farm.

• Choose the one Unique your build cannot properly function without.
• Find the boss with that item in its dedicated pool, then farm that encounter first.
• Run the highest Torment level you can clear without deaths or long resets.
• Keep normal-key farms going when you need Greater Lair Keys for Duriel, Andariel, Harbinger, or Butcher.
• Move to Belial only when you want a selected boss pool and a stronger Mythic chase at the same time.
• Save Corrupted Reaper access for Mythic-quality upgrades and Pandemonium Fragments, not for filling basic gear slots.
  

Belial changes the usual routine because you can select a ladder boss pool when opening his Hoard. That is brilliant when your build already works and you are chasing a better roll, a Mythic drop, or both. It is less appealing when you still need three ordinary Uniques to get off the ground. Corrupted Reaper sits even further up the ladder. He is the quality-focused farm, especially for players who want Pandemonium Fragments to upgrade an eligible Unique through the Horadric Cube. Astaroth and Bartuc are different again. Astaroth fits players running Escalating Nightmares, while Bartuc rewards strong Infernal Hordes runs that reach the required Aether threshold.
Do not overlook boss damage either. Duriel punishes weak poison resistance, Grigoire makes lightning defence matter, and Beast in the Ice can turn a rushed setup into a messy cold-damage death loop. Reliable clears beat flashy clears. Once your build is stable, compare drops per key rather than drops per hour alone. If you need a particular item, farm its owner. If you already have the item and want a stronger version, Belial and the Reaper make more sense. Filling weak slots with cheap diablo 4 gear can also help you reach that point without wasting premium access on an unfinished build.
